Pesticides and Soil Health

Do you know that chemical pest control companies not only kill ants but soil biology too?

By now you should know that I am an advocate of health, for all living things, especially soil health. I realized a long time ago that soil health is the foundation for all healthy life, from insects to trees to humans. I have been explaining how city water kills the soil biology but did you know that chemical companies with their use of pesticides also kill the soil biology?

When you damage soil biology through the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, toxins from plastics, radiation, city water, or whatever, you are creating a chain reaction that while it starts in the soil biology, quickly moves up the chain of life-damaging our ability to get the nutrients needed for health.

Our stomach mirrors the soil biology. We have billions of microbic life in our microbiome, each doing a specific job in taking in nutrients and converting them into a firm that our bodies can then utilize for proper growth and health. The same holds for soil biology.

Folks often ask me about the name Invisible Gardener. I love telling them that the true Invisible Gardeners are the unseen army of gardeners in the soil. They are essential. They have different functions. Some provide trace minerals. They are broken down into specialized workers. Each works on their specialization, some do calcium, some iron, and so on. There are 90 trace minerals which not just plants, etc but all life depend on for their health and well-being. I have learned from experience that if just one trace mineral is missing, this sets up a favorable condition for pests and diseases to occur. This is why I am always talking about the health of the soil. Healing the biology takes time and it doesn’t help if one is always dumping toxins into the soil. City water is bad enough but chemical pesticides are not good for biology, especially soil biology.

This is one good reason to use an organic pest control company, one that uses natural systems to control ants and other pests. My favorite method is to just heal the soil biology. This will over time as the soil heals, it will also control all pests and diseases on your property. Pesticides are made to kill. It will kill anything and everything it comes in contact with. It will kill bees. If a bee lands on a newly sprayed spot it will die instantly. If that bee survives and makes it back to the colony, the whole colony dies!

So please get yourself a whole property filtration system. That will go a long way to speeding up the healing process. Use live compost, and use an acid mulch like azalea/gardenia mix. Use organic fertilizers. Use seaweed. By the way, organic fertilizers will not work in dead soil, so get the live compost and mulch going.
