Nicholas Canyon County Beach is located on the northern end of Malibu just off Pacific Coast Highway, about a mile south of Leo Carrillo State Beach. Nicholas Canyon is a long beach with plenty of activities for your beach day including, surfing, body surfing, boogie boarding, fishing, diving, windsurfing, and more. Nicholas Canyon is also a good place to check out the tide pools during low tides to see some shallow water marine life.
This beach has its own parking lot with over one hundred spots which is usually plenty of spots for everyone no matter what day it is. The parking fee is between 3 to 10 dollars depending on the time of year and how long you are there. Throughout the park there are plenty of picnic tables to enjoy a mid-day meal and often times during the summer there is a food truck that sets up shop where you can purchase a meal or something to drink. Other amenities include restrooms, showers, and a lifeguard on duty from the early morning to sunset. Alcohol and dogs are not permitted on the beach at any times. If you are looking to bring the dog down to the beach we would recommend either County Line or Leo Carrillo. Alcohol & dogs are permitted at those beaches as well as long as there are no glass containers and dogs must remain on a leash.
